One afternoon I stayed home with my sister.

First we had some pizza. It was pepperoni pizza with pineapple, and it was delicious.

My sister was in her room on her phone and I was in the lounge. I was playing fortnite with my friend Zack. We played a game mode where you have to survive from the zombies, and when you kill them you get five coins.   When I lost, I walked out to hang some washing.

I had to hang two baskets.

I don't like to hang washing because I am short. But I did it because I use the little line. I was amazed because I didn't know it was that easy but I did it.

Then I went back to my game. My friend was still playing. He revived me and he gave me some gold so I could buy gold guns. They are stronger than the other guns.   I was getting a little bored so I went into a public server where real people are. It was going wonderful until someone sniped us from out of nowhere. I was upset when we got  sniped. 

I was still bored so I watched some youtube. I watched montage. Montage is where people do trickshots and clip people.  After that I walked over to the table to have a kai. I had some boil-up, leftovers from the other night. It was delicious. Finally it was time to go to bed.

My mum and dad were coming home the next day.  I reckon I had an awesome time because I spent time with my big sister.

Matua Rays visit

Matua Ray`s visit

On Monday morning Matua Ray came to talk to our class about how to keep our fresh waterway healthy.

First we talked about the clarity of the water. 

Matua Ray used a long pipe and there was a black magnet. He was checking how clean the water was.

You are supposed to look at the long pipe of water. You look in the pipe. There is a black magnet. You move the magnet down the pipe of water and see how far the magnet can go. You say stop when you can't see the magnet.

Next we talked about the temperature of water. He showed our class a thermometer. Simon put the thermometer in the water and checked the temperature and the temperature was 15.

Then we got a different thermometer to test if the temperature was the same.The other thermometer did nearly the same it was 15.5.

After that Matau Ray talked to us about pests in our fresh waterways.There are two fish, one of them is gambusia. Gambusia is a mosquito fish.

They pull out the other fishes eyes and sometimes they pull out there own eyes too.

The other pests are the koi carp. The koi carp messes up the bottom of the river and kills the other fish.

Finally we talked about our ph level. If the ph level is under 6 the water is to acidic and if the water is over 9.5 it has got too much alkaline. The best ph level is 7.

I felt very cheerful after we got all of that learning in our heads. There was so much to learn and I really enjoyed listening to Matua Ray and learning from him. I can’t wait for our trip on Wednesday to learn more about our fresh waterways and how to look after them.

Going to Waitai`s house

On Saturday I went to Waitai` s house. My aunty and Waitai came to pick me up from my house. I packed some clothes then I saw her outside. I got my bag and jumped in the car. I was excited when I jumped in the car. First when we got to their house we had a gigantic kai, the kai was delicious. There was chicken, chips and salad. Then we played some basketball and we played master. Master is when you shoot the ball from a line and if you get the ball in the hoop you get to be master. I felt proud when I got the ball in the hoop.Then is was Waitai’s turn with the ball. He didn't get the ball in hoop first try.  Then it was my turn again and I got the ball in the hoop. Next it was Waitai`s brother’s turn. His name in Sione. Sione is wonderful at basketball. He can shoot very far. Sione got the ball in first try too. Next we walked to Sione`s room and played on his xbox 1. We played Red Dead Redemption 2. Red dead redemption is when you kill animals  and you try to survive from people because they try to kill you. I died three times.Then we played ufc.Ufc is when you fight the other person that is playing. After that we were still on ufc I was versing Waitai. He was amazing at ufc. I beat Waitai .I was very amazed because Waitai is better than me.Then we went outside and played hide&seek. Me & Waitai were the hiders and Patuone was the seeker. Patuone couldn't find me & Waita.i I was hiding in the cupboard and Waitai was hiding under the bed.  couldn't find me & Waitai so Patuone gave up. Me & Waiti won. I  was very cheerful. Finally we jumped in the bed.I thought it was a wonderful time at Waitai`s house. I felt very delighted that night.

 Punakitere Awa

On the Saturday morning me,Simon and

Petuere went with Mrs Paraha to see Punakitere Awa because we are learning about rivers .

First we had a look on some maps to look for Punakitere river. So we found where it is.

Then we made some videos about Punakitere. It was fun doing the videos.

 

Next we went outside and had some 

snacks. It was chocolates, rice cakes and caramel sticks. They were delicious.

 

Then we started our journey to find Punakitere.

Our first trip was to find the source. The source is where the river begins. Our journey was to find it. We drove down Orakau road following the river.

There was heaps of nature around the river. 

Then we found the source and took some photos. The source is at Hikurangi Maunga.  It was fun.

After that we drove to school to look at the  maps again. We were trying to look for the mouth. The mouth is where the river ends.

We looked on the maps and it looked cool. We found where Punakitere ends. It ends

at the Hokianga Harbour.

  

Finally we drove down Picadilly road and looked where Punakitere leaves Tautoro.

That night I felt joyful because it was fun and I learned lots about all sorts of rivers.

Flipout

WALT use the correct structure for recount Writing 

 

It was the last week of the holidays. My mum decided to take my family to Whangarei for some fun. The first place we went to was Flipout. At Flipout you have to wear grip socks.

Grip socks are amazing things. There are little bits of grip on the bottom of the socks. You have to buy them first then you can go up the stairs to the  tramps. 

First I played Basketball. It was fun because you can dunk and trick shot.Dunk means that you jump and get the ball in.Trick shot means you jump off things and throw the ball in.   

Then we ran to dodgeball. It was boys vs girls you have to try to dodge the ball or catch the ball and throw it back to them. The girls won.

Next we had a challenge to do the most backflips off the green lamborghini model. I nearly lost to my older brother. My brother nearly beat me but I won. It was an awesome challenge. After that we had a parkour. Parkour is 

When you do a lot of stunts.I was with my two brothers. I came second my older brother won. Then I jumped off a square block onto the biggest tramp. Finally we went home and went to bed.

I felt amazed when we got home. I think that was an awesome day.

The water cycle is a path that goes in and around the earth. The water in puddles and rivers and oceans evaporates first and then it turns into water vapor and then turns into clouds then it rains and turns back into liquid and does the runoff and it does it all over again and never stops. Sometimes the water turns into a solid and turns into snow and hail.

Why is the water cycle important to the earth?

The water cycle is important because it helps plants, animals and humans to live and it helps the earth too. As a result of the water cycle going around and around in a circle it makes sure we have fresh water to drink and that keeps everything alive.

So that is why the water cycle is important to the 

earth.

 Here is my writing sample for term 1 2021. I think my writing has improved because I can spell more words correctly.

At the waterfall

On Friday afternoon my brother, sister and I went to the waterfall to have a swim. The water was cold but the sun was shining bright.

First me and my brother went to the top of the waterfall. My brother jumped first then I jumped after him. I did a  munu my sister videoed me it was huge it was bigger then my brother's bom. After that we had a competition who can do the biggest staples but he won and I lost because I belly floped. I think that was a Awesome munu. Next we were getting hungry so my sister went to get lollies and some chips.They were Delicious.Then I jumped off the rocks and I backslaped it was Painful so I had a rest of jumping off the top. I tried to do a different bom. I tried to do a Gorilla but I couldn't do it. It was hard. Later on my sister jumped off the top it was gigantic it was way bigger then my bom. Finally we went home.  Hikurangi

Whaea Diane’s Visit

Yesterday Whaea Diane came to our class to talk about maths. 

First Whaea Diane showed us a 120’s board. We used it to count in tens.

After that Whaea Diane chose some people to choose a number. We counted in tens to 160 and 150. It was easy for us because we can count in tens. Then we got split into groups. We were trying to sort out some green cards. We were putting them into 1 digit, 2 digit and 3 digit groups. Next we were trying to figure out another way to solve another problem. It was hard for my group because it was hard to think of another problem.Then we figured out odd numbers and even numbers.

Finally Whaea Diane was going and it was lunch time.

That was a good day with Whaea Diane.

Staying home

On Saturday afternoon I stayed home with my brother. First we played dragon city it was fun.Then we went outside and played Touch. I got the ball first then my brother got me 3 times. Next it was his turn.  He got one score then it was my turn again with the ball and I got 1 score. After that we went on the tramp. I was doing backflips and my brother was doing front flips then we saw who could kick the ball the highest and I won. Then we went inside and played Fortnite. We had turn for turn. We played pro 100. I got the most points and won the game and played it again. I was coming first then someone went in front of me and I came second and the other people won. It was fun  then we played solo I won 3 games and he won 2 games. Then we had some toast it was delicious. Finally it was nighttime. My brother and I went to get our mattress. I went to get some blankets. We watched tv and went to bed.

That day was awesome I felt happy that night.

Recount going to the skatepark

 

On Monday afternoon me and my family  drove to the skatepark. On the way we got an ice cream, a drink and a pie. It was delicious. When we got there I got my skateboard and I got my Pads and my helmet. Then I started on the half pipe and the pumps. Next I went in the bowl.  When I went up I fell off it was scary because you go up so high. After that I went in another bowl. After that I went back to the pumps and I was trying to learn how to grind but I couldn't get it. It was hard so I tried and tried then I did it once.  After that I went on a big ramp.

After two hours at the skatepark we went to Wendy's.

Finally we went home.That was an awesome day.
