What they look like.
Kererū are big and heavy. 
They have a blue green head and neck. They have a white puku. kereru have a red beke.
Karearea are big brown birds.
They have powerful claws.z

Tui have blue, green and brown feathers.
They have a white tuft on their throat.

Ruru has big eyes that help them see in the dark.
They have short brown feathers.
Their feathers look like hair.
How they move.
They swoop through the trees.

Kārearea can fly as fast as a car

They can fly.
They fly silently, looking and listening for prey.

What they eat.
They eat berries, fruit, flowers, and leaves to eat.
They hunt mostly birds, even big, fat birds like kererū. They also catch lizards, big insects like grasshoppers, and small animals like rabbits.

They eat kowhai flowers from the kowhai tree. 
Ruru mostly eat big insects like wētā and beetles. They also eat mice and small birds.
They eat crckets and weta.
What they do.
They are always looking for food to eat.
They prey birds.

They can copy sounds,like the songs of other birds.
They sleep in the day and hunt at night.
They  are nocturnal; they sleep in the day and hunt in the night.
Other interesting facts
Sometimes kererū eat too much, and they get too heavy to fly properly.
Sometimes kererū get confused by reflections and they crash into windows!
Kārearea are fierce hunters. They have powerful claws.

Adult tui have a tuft of white feathers on their throats.
Ruru are owls. They are nocturnal. 
Ruru have big eyes that help them
see in the dark.
